Sustainability in Fashion Event

Hosted by FLUX & studio member and slow fashion designer Sharon Sweeney Design in May 2023, this event highlighted the effects of fast fashion on the environment & showcased local people trying to effect positive change in this creative sector.
Featuring a live interview with podcaster Fionnuala Jay & other guests, the panel discussed the process of trying to be a sustainable consumer of fashion, the challenges it presents and some tips and advice they’ve picked up along the way.
The event finished off with a series of short 5-minute talks from advocates of sustainability in fashion including Aine Hennessy (Henny Penny Vintage) , We Love Markets, Alison Byrne (Wildbird Studio) & more.
In the surrounding gallery space we also held an exhibition of outfits, jewellery and accessories representing many designers, makers, vintage shops and organisations all flying the flag locally for sustainability in fashion.
