A Weekend Workshop with Artist Shevaun Doherty
Join award-winning artist, Shevaun Doherty, on a two day Botanical Art Workshop painting Spring Flowers @ Flux Studios in the heart of Dublin 8.
This workshop will teach you the various watercolour techniques (wet-in-wet, glazing and drybrush) needed to capture the delicacy of spring blossoms. We will begin with observational drawing and tonal studies, and then focusing how to use colour to convey realistic light and form.
An experienced tutor, Shevaun will demonstrate her painting techniques as well as giving practical advice on how to set up botanical subjects for painting, how to choose the right colours, and how to finish and present your artwork.
Whether you are a beginner or simply wish to improve your painting skills, this friendly and informal class will inspire you to pick up your brushes and enjoy the first blossoms of spring.
The class will cover:
Observational drawing
Composition
Colour mixing and colour theory
Tonal awareness
Watercolour techniques- wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, glazing and dry brush

*Most materials supplied, though a small materials list will be sent to each participant

Unfortunately, no refunds are given. Please make sure that you, or the person you are gifting the workshop to, can attend this workshop. If you cannot attend the workshop we can reschedule your workshop if you inform us up to 21 days prior to the workshop's start date. If you request to reschedule less than 21 days before the workshop starting date we will not be in a position to change the date. Places can be given to a friend if you can no longer attend - please inform us as soon as you can with the new attendee's contact details.
