A Weekend Workshop with Artist Lynn Kennedy
We are delighted to welcome Artist Lynn Kennedy to Flux Studios to teach a new weekend drawing workshop! This two-day workshop on "Portraiture and Figure Drawing in Charcoal" offers an immersive experience in capturing the human form and face with precision and expression. Through guided exercises and live demonstrations, participants will learn essential techniques in charcoal drawing, including shading, proportion, and anatomy, while developing a deeper understanding of light, shadow, and texture.
Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this workshop provides personalised feedback in a supportive environment, helping artists bring their portraits and figures to life with depth and emotion.
We will work from photo references for the portraiture session on day 1, and from a live model for the figure drawing session on day 2.
The course is suitable for beginners or intermediate participants who want to improve their art.
Course Fee: €250
* Most materials will be provided, though a small materials list will be sent to each participant.

Since leaving art college with a degree in classical animation in 1993 Lynn has worked as an animator, illustrator, graphic designer and photographer. In 2017 she longed to get back to the hands-on art she had been doing in college and took up oil painting. As she had been a portrait photographer, it was a natural progression for her painting to follow the same direction.
Lynn’s paintings have been exhibited in the RHA and the RUA annual exhibitions, the Ruth Borchard self portrait prize, the Zurich portrait Prize and she also took part in the Sky Arts Portrait artist of the year in 2021.

Unfortunately, no refunds are given. Please make sure that you, or the person you are gifting the workshop to, can attend this workshop. If you cannot attend the workshop we can reschedule your workshop if you inform us up to 21 days prior to the workshop's start date. If you request to reschedule less than 21 days before the workshop starting date we will not be in a position to change the date. Places can be given to a friend if you can no longer attend - please inform us as soon as you can with the new attendee's contact details.
