Hixxy is a painter and collage artist from the UK.
Studying fine art in Liverpool and Jo then went on to live in London where she found her niche in the commercial mural industry. She’s been a full time muralist for 8 years now creating artwork for a vast array of clients, brands, charities and independents.
Her work fuses elements of the past with a modern and surreal twist, sometimes referred to as ‘left field tutti fruity' inviting viewers into a world where memories and imagination converge through bold, colourful visuals. More recently her studio painting have developed, embracing the collage roots from where the ideas are formed. Translating the visual qualities and physicality of the collage; paper textures, drop shadows and imperfection through in oil painting.
